When AZcredits.org was created, our mission was simple:
make it easier for tax credit dollars to reach the organizations doing the most good in our communities.
That mission guides every decision we make , including one of the questions we’re asked most often:
“How much does it cost for a school, charity, or foster care organization to be on AZcredits.org?”
The answer is simple: nothing.
A Platform Built to Serve, Not Profit
AZcredits.org is completely free for charities, public schools, and foster care organizations to join and use. We do not charge onboarding fees to organizations listed on the site.
Why?
Because our goal is not to profit from charitable giving — it’s to remove barriers that prevent donations from getting where they’re needed most.
We believe tax credit dollars should work for communities, not get tied up in unnecessary costs or complicated systems.
Where the Money Goes (And Where It Doesn’t)
Transparency matters, especially when it comes to donations.
For charities, public schools, and foster care organizations, funds donated through AZcredits.org:
- Go directly from the donor to the organization
- Are never touched, held, or redirected by AZcredits.org
- Are typically available for use as soon as the next business day
Our platform simply connects donors with organizations and provides the structure needed to complete tax credit giving efficiently and accurately.
In other words: every dollar donated to these organizations goes exactly where the donor intends.
A Special Note on Private School Donations
Private school tuition tax credits operate a bit differently under Arizona law. Scholarships for private school tuition must be distributed through a certified School Tuition Organization (STO).
That’s where our partner organization, APESF (Arizona Private Education Scholarship Fund), comes in.
- Donations designated for private schools are received by APESF
- APESF then awards scholarships to qualifying families
- This ensures compliance with Arizona tax credit regulations and allows families to receive tuition assistance legally and responsibly
Importantly, this is the only category of giving where funds flow through APESF, and it exists solely to support students and families who need educational assistance.
Why This Model Matters
By keeping AZcredits.org free and transparent, we’re able to:
- Support more charities, schools, and foster care organizations
- Help donors feel confident about where their money is going
- Ensure funds are put to work quickly, not held or delayed
- Build trust across the entire tax credit ecosystem
We don’t believe charities should have to pay to be supported, and we don’t believe donors should have to wonder what happens to their contribution.
