Kino School

Kino School, a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 1975 in Tucson, Arizona, is a pioneer in progressive education serving K-12 students (grouped as Primary K-2, Mid-Level 3-5, Junior High 6-8, High School 9-12). Its mission is to cultivate lifelong passion for learning through student-centered, hands-on approaches that adapt to individual needs and abilities, emphasizing curiosity, joy, and compassion. Unique features include multi-age homerooms for community building, an open-concept 10-acre campus with animal center, greenhouse, trails, music studio, art/pottery, tool shop, and science lab; no traditional grades, testing, or homework in younger years; student-led topic choices; field trips, apprenticeships, and community service.
